GOLD Affinity Group - IEEE Singapore Section
An Affinity Group is a local unit of an IEEE organizational unit or standing committee, established by petition to the parent organizational unit to fulfill the purposes of the IEEE. "Parent organizational unit" as used here refers to an organizational unit or standing committee. The IEEE Singapore GOLD is an IEEE affinity group that encourages the participation of young engineers in promoting the engineering community, fosters real communication between the university and the industry and enhances skills needed for better performance in the professional world.
Singapore GOLD Affinity Group was approved in September 2003. Since then, the pioneer committee members have displayed active volunteerism and through proactive participation, foundation is gradually entrenched and value-added activities are now in the pipeline. We desire to see greater networks be established among members and non-members of the same age group; to create a common platform for sharing and learning among the young professionals. And these, eventually, takes on the role of volunteers to the younger generation by imparting knowledge and experiences to juniors who had yet graduated.
