The tour was a memorable and enriching experience. There were a total of 45 participants; among them 10 were GOLD members. Admission fees for GOLD members were waived by the IEEE GOLD Singapore Section. The tour started off at 6:45 PM from the gate of Tiger Brewery, guided by a Brewery Tour Ambassador. Bus Pick-up was arranged from three different points in Singapore – NUS, NTU and Fusionopolis.

Brewery Tour Ambassador explained about the Brewery, its history and functions of different units. It was helpful to gain insight into the fine, natural ingredients which go into brewing of beer. Tour Ambassador shared about the Brewery’s innovative packaging process and interesting beer trivia. Everyone got a glimpse on how beer is produced and all enjoyed various brands of beer. Participants had an opportunity to tantalize their taste buds with the wide variety of quality brews at the Tiger Tavern and they could pick up tips on enjoying the beer. Locally brewed draft beers, Tiger and Heineken were available till 9.30pm. Anchor, Baron’s, ABC Stout, Guinness Stout and imported beers like Kilkenny and Erdinger, were available for sampling from 8.30pm till 9pm.

All participants of this event will cherish the evening spend inside the Tiger Brewery. Overall it was a successful and a happy experience to all participants.

The Tiger Brewery Tour in Singapore is open to visitors from Mondays to Fridays (except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). Four tours are conducted daily at 10.30am, 2.00pm, 4.00pm and 6.30pm (Prior booking is a must). With just a nominal fee of S$10.70 (inclusive of 7% GST) per person, visitors can look forward to experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of beer in the making at the brew house and packaging hall, sampling the refreshing taste of the brews at the Tiger Tavern and buying exclusive gifts from the Tiger Souvenir Shop. Visitors need to be at least 18 years of age and children are not allowed to enter the Tiger Tavern. Visitors have to exchange their Identity Card for visitors’ pass at the Security gate before they enter the Brewery.
